Belmopan Hotels: Allowing travelers to Explore the Most Interesting Parts of Belmopan May 31, 2011 at 1:59 pm

A metropolis gets demolished by a tempest yet the nature of the inhabitants could not be overwhelmed – they decided to rebuild the city and a new capital as well. A tale like this would make a good book…and it would be based on a true set of events of what happened about forty years ago in a place just south of Mexico. This is the reality the capital of Belize – Belmopan.

Belize City, the former capital city located along the coast, was wrecked by a category 5 storm in 1961 so a new capital city was created further inland and it was named Belmopan. Like many other people, I too wanted to see the city that was built as a result of a concerted effort of its people. When visiting Belmopan there are many Belmopan hotels to stay at – or, if you like, a bed and breakfast or nearby resort.

There are many interesting things to see in the Belmopan area such as the Mopan river, the Blue Hole and ancient caves used by the Mayan and fortunately there are hotels in Belmopan located by these places.

If you want to visit a place that is near the rain forest and the mountains then come to Belmopan since there are a wide variety of hotels right in the area – there is bound to be a Belmopan hotel for you. These Belmopan hotels specialize in high quality adventure travel for family, small groups, and free-spirited individuals. Also, there are a host of bread and breakfast hotels in Belmopan that cater to the requirements of budget conscious travelers.

There are no 5 star hotels in the Belmpan area but there are still several places you can stay at with a high level of service. They offer facilities like Internet in the rooms, wireless, television, tea and coffee making facilities, telephone and a  host of other facilities, making the stay of their guests truly memorable and pleasurable.

Since Belmopan is centrally located consider making a Belmopan hotel a “base of operations” that you can use to visit to rest of the country.
